Miracle Curve

Driving down the freeway on a very warm day
Up ahead came a very simple curve,
A gust of wind blew my check out the window
I could only watch my check and say, "The nerve!"

My son stopped the car then he put it in reverse
As I sadly watched my check float away,
To the middle of the freeway out of my reach
This was not a good start for my day.

"Can't run across the freeway, I might get hit!"
As I watched cars speeding by.
My only thought was "Please, help me, Lord!"
Then His help quickly came from the sky.

My mouth dropped open as the check floated up
And over all the cars whizzing past,
The real miracle came when the check came down
By my foot - I had my check at last.

I'll never forget the Lord's work that day
Not a single car had to break or swerve.
The Lord's still working in our lives today
As He proved on Miracle Curve.

You Never Really Know

You never really know how the Lord does works
Using you to brighten someone's day.
Never really know all the reasons why
We should listen every time we pray.

Sometimes your blessing is a smile
Or something you have to say.

Sometimes your blessing you don't know
But it makes somebody’s day.

It's hard to choose just who to bless
Who's fake or really real.
God knows our heart when time to give
He knows just how we feel.

To be a blessing stay in tune
With God He'll make the choice.
But if you're busy trying to do it all
You'll never hear His voice.

Bottom line is you'll never know
Whose lives your blessings touch,
For God He knows just what the need
He even knows how much.

In Tune With God

It's a challenge to stay in tune to God

Every second of the day.

You think you are but you're really not

Then distractions come your way.

The only way to improve your skill

In listening to God voice,

Is to stay in prayer every day

And then you’ll have no choice.

Sometimes His voice is an inner feeling

Sometimes it’s called it a hunch.

Some call it intuition

But it’ll save you in a crunch.

Sometimes He talks to us deep in prayer

Sometimes we’re wide awake,

You never really know just when He’ll speak

Or which contact He will make.

The voice of God is never wrong

His voice is loud and clear,

Just keep your focus on the Lord

His voice you’ll surely hear.

Spiritual Warfare

Tick tock round the clock
There are spirits all around.
Good and evil forever at war
Yet we don't hear a sound.

Spiritual warfare is alive and well
As forces battle each other.
But the way we see it in our world
Is how we treat each other.

Corruption, murder, suicide
Is violence at its best.
Cursing, fighting, disrespect
All caused by spiritual unrest.

Don't be so quick to judge someone
Whose temper can't be controlled.
It could be the spirit within that one
Who needs to be consoled.

"Resist the devil and he'll flee from you"
There's really no need to fear.
Keep your hedge of protection on hand
Cause God is the real boss here.

 Obedience is the Key

What is it that God has told you to do
And you let time pass by?
Now blessings have suddenly come to a stop

And you have the nerve to ask why.

When God tells you to do this or that
And you fight it with all your might,
You block God's blessings meant for you
If only you had done what's right

It's not that you are doing wrong
It's just that God knows best.
No matter how hard a challenge may be
Sometimes its all a test.

The test is about obedience
Are you ready to do God's will?
For if you choose to do your thing
You'll find things going downhill.

Obedience is the key to all the blessings

God has in store for you.
Following His Word and sharing with others
Is the least we have to do.

 Why Are You Here?

Have you ever asked God just why you're here
What is your purpose both far and near?
Are you the inventor of some new thing
Or are you a blessing every time you sing?

Have you ever considered your God-given gift
Or how your presence gives others a lift?
Is it meant for you with a touch to heal
Or help someone no matter how you feel?

Have you ever asked God what is your task?
You don't know by now it's time to ask.
Maybe your call is to go and preach
Or use your gift to go and teach.

Lord, give me strength to stay in line.
Don't want to live wrong and get left behind.
I'll do my best to do all I can
To spread the Word to my fellow man.

I'll work each day to stay on the path
Not be disobedient and feel Your wrath.
I'll live by your Word so that You will see
That I want to make You proud of me.

Are You Being a Blessing?

Are you being a blessing every day
Or when you think God is looking your way?
If a homeless person gives you a nod
Do you look at him as if he's odd?

Do you give to homeless when funds are low
Or give to only those you know?
Are you one who gives a frown
To those in need because they're down?

Being a blessing could be a smile
For some it has been quite awhile.
Just a look can go a long way
For those ignored throughout the day.

To feel your body is made of glass
When people look through you as they pass.
All they need is a little attention
Which helps them deal with all that tension.

Are you being a blessing the best you can
And lending a hand to your fellow man?
For God He knows just what we've done
And only He knows the reward we've won.

Player Haters

They spend their time looking down on you.
They have nothing else to do.
But the player hater is one of a kind.
Their hate is aimed at you.

Sometimes its fear and insecurity
Or jealousy at its best.
Player haters just can't stand your light
Cause you rise above their mess.

They try to be rude and mean to you
But don't understand your way.
Pay them no mind they get more upset
And have even more to say.

The  player hater acts from an empty void
He has no love for himself,
For if they knew that God's aware
They'd put that "tude" on the shelf.

Sticks and stones my break my bones
You haters on alert,
As long as God is on my side
Your words will never hurt.

Hanging On By a Thread

Being attacked from all around
I'm hanging on by a thread.
Had it not been for the Word of God
I'm sure I would have been dead.

Doubt and fear trying to enter my mind
And rip my faith apart.
Heart beating fast and breath getting short
Holding on is a work of art.

Can't sleep at night, tossing and turning
I know I'm not getting enough rest.
I don't know how long I can last
Please tell me this is a test.

Lord, I'm confused I'm following Your Word
Don't know what else to do.
Fighting to keep my faith in tact
Cause I've always trusted You.

"Look not at the things that are seen"
Is the verse that I hold true.
For I know no matter how hard it gets
That You will see me through.

So Much to be Grateful For

Somebody didn't wake up today.
They’re awake but not okay.
Somebody fell asleep at the wheel.
Somebody's lost in a world unreal.

For who knows what could've happened today
If not for the angels looking our way.
There is so much to be grateful for,
All the blessings that have come before.

Somebody walking down the street was shot
Not playing around just joking a lot.
Some have a bullet which has their name
But didn't reach its target, O bless His name!

"Nothing just happens" as it is said
It’s no coincidence that you're not dead.
It's time to thank God for all He's done
For all the victories with Him we've won.

Think of all the reasons why you are grateful.
They’re rewards for being faithful.
I thank God every time He blesses me.
Without the Lord's help where would I be.

The Spirit of Lust

Looking at things you're not suppose to see
Then asking, "What's coming over me?"
Don't want to be tempted - don't open the door!
The spirit of lust it only wants more.

Everywhere you look there's nothing but skin
Taunting you to turn your life to sin.
You don't want to lose to that fire inside
Turn your eyes to the spiritual side.

Movies, music and even TV
Give you much more than you want to see.
I really love jamming to my favorite CD
Until I see all the flesh jumping out at me.

The carnal man is alive and well
Better watch out or go straight to hell.
I wish I knew how to help folks know
That lust of the flesh is killing them slow.

I can only say, dear Lord, I pray
That folks wake up before that day.
When soon they all must show their hand
And pray the Lord will understand.

Favor Ain't Fair

People keep asking how I got my big break,
Who do I know - what decision did I make?
There was no magic- I have one thing to share.
When you following God, "favor ain't fair."

Favor is His Light shining bright on You,
It makes you stand out no matter what you do.
People all confused, pulling out their hair,
They can't understand that "favor ain't fair."

I know longer question the favor of God when
He gives me a blessing that others think odd.
Some begin to act like they really don't care
What's driving them nuts is "favor ain't fair."

The favor of God is not in your control.
He blesses you for doing what you're told.
Just follow His Word in all that you do
And soon his favor will land on you.

So let your Light shine wherever you go.
Your favor blesses others more than you know.
Don't get caught up in the negative stares.
It not your fault that "favor ain't fair."

Venomous Intent

They spread their venom to all they know.

They lie for fun wherever they go.

You know who they are it’s no surprise.

I talking about people who tell nothing but lies.

They care not about the damage that’s done

For lying to them is nothing but fun.

They don’t even know the meaning of truth

For they’ve been lying since their youth.

Lying one time only leads to more

Cause hiding the truth is at the core.

The master of lies has a heart of steel.

They give no thought about how you feel.

A little white lie soon turns to black

If you don’t understand it comes from lack.

Lack of love then replaced by tension

Soon turns to lies to get more attention.

So liars take heed, God’s on patrol.

Don’t lie and say you have no control.

But who’s to say only time will tell.

Will your judgment be a ticket to hell?

 The Gossiping Tongue

Why do people like to run their mouth
When they really don't know the deal,
They love to say everything they know
When they really don't know what's real.

Trying to see who's talking to who.
Is there a relationship in the mix?
The gossiping tongue that goes on and on
Soon finds themselves in a fix.

Don't dare tell them they're way off course
As they run their mouth each day,
The less they know it really shows
Now they're the latest news out today.

Some people gossip with venomous intent
Knowing everything they say will hurt,
They have no conscious - their mouth goes on
Spewing out all kinds of dirt.

Lord, touch these folks who gossip so much
Whose words cause so much pain,
Teach them how the words they speak
Will come back on them time again.

"The Pen of a Ready Writer"

The “tongue is the pen of a ready writer”
Be careful of what you say.
The words that do come out of your mouth
Is the reason you're here today.

When you speak bad words, they open the door
And bring your character down.
You're really the one who should be loved
It's your words that make others frown.

The words you speak can make you great
They can even make you fall.
The words you speak can shatter dreams
Or help your reach your call.

There's power hidden in every word
Which leads to good and bad.
You choose the road by what you say
You'll either be happy or sad.

So watch the words you speak this day
It is your God-given gift.
But the way you use this power from God
Can be used to destroy or uplift.

The One-Second Miracle

A second doesn't sound like a lot of time
With God it's so much more.
Some say the difference between life and death
Is what God has in store.

In a second you can fall asleep at the wheel
And lose control of your car.
In a second someone can take you out
Not even knowing who you are.

You could be standing in the safest place
A second later now you're gone.
You really don't know how long you have
But time just marches on.

The One-second miracle is when God moves
And saves you in the blink of an eye.
There must be a reason it happened that way
Don't you ever stop and ask Him why?

I thank you, Lord, for saving my life
When death was at my door.
There are so many who have left this world
Never knowing you had more in store.

The Devil's Darts

The devil's main job is to bring you down
I think you know by now.
In case you don't I'm taking the time
To tell you exactly how.

He throws us darts to make us think
That we’re no use to God.
He wants to make us feel like scum
That we're the one who's odd.

The devil works hard to get in your head
And lead you down his path,
But if you know the power you have
You'd let him feel God's wrath.

Don't let the darts come in your mind
And cause doubt in your heart,
Just know you are a child of God
You are His work of art.

Tell the devil’s to let you be
He won't have you this day,
With God inside His power resides
Just seek Him every day.

Heavy Laden

“Come to me all ye heavy laden

And I will give you rest.”

I’m holding on to that verse, O Lord,

Cause fatigue is at it’s best.

Constantly tired trying to hold on

I see no relief in sight.

The only thing that can help right now

Is for God to come and show His might.

Finances attacked, my body is weak

I’m losing my focus on life.

My head is spinning like I’m in the fast lane

Trying to stay ahead of all this strife.

Lord, stop these thoughts of wanting to give up.

The devil is a lie, he’s through.

I can feel Your light shining down on me

So there’s nothing else they can do.

Exhaustion may try to wear me down.

The devil can play his game.

I’ll seek Your face ‘til the end, O Lord,

And my love will remain the same.

Talk to the Lord

Talk to the Lord when you're feeling bad
Even when you're feeling down,
Talk to Him about your hopes and dreams
Even when no one's around.

Talk to the Lord when trembling in fear
When you feel there is no hope.
Talking to the Lord in the midst of it all
His peace will help you cope.

Talk to the Lord about all of your life
Every decision that you have to make.
Take the time to lift it all up to Him
Your problem and your worries He'll take.

Talk the Lord from the depths of despair
When your heart is racked with pain.
Even talk to Him if you're filled with doubt
When you feel like you're going insane.

When you take the time to talk to the Lord
You put your cares right in His hands.
In that precious time you're filled with peace
And you'll know that He does understand.

Can't Predict God

Ever notice how you can't out guess God
Trying to figure out what he'll do?
As soon as you do you'll soon find out
He has many more choices than you.

When is He going to bless my life
Just the thought puts a smile on my face.

I can't help but think He's laughing at me
As I rush around place to place.

Sometimes I try to chart the His path
To know what's on His mind.
Then I have to stop and laugh at myself
My God is One of a kind.

Its not your job to figure out how
God brings these things to pass.
Just drop to your knees giving Him praise
That the blessings found you at last.

There's only one way to know God's way
That’s to follow His will each day.
Then His blessings will flow into your life
And it won’t really matter which way.

Raging Fire

Lord, cool me from these thoughts of rage
Someone has done me wrong.
This rage it burns down deep inside
My control will not last long.

"Vengeance is mine!" says the Lord.
I know that's what You said.
I just can't stop these thoughts of doom
And wish someone was dead.

My burning desire has turned to fire
My rage won't let me be.
Lord, please come into my heart
That I will be set free.

I must ignore all the hurt and pain
Caused by someone so dear.
My thoughts of rage go on and on
Please Lord, I hope you're near.

I pray and pray for peaceful thoughts
Each time I pray at night.
I pray, O Lord, you'll touch my heart
And help me set things right.

Integrity?

Integrity is what you do
When you think you're all alone.
Do you act the same when you’re by yourself
Or is another side of you shown?

Picking up things that are not your own
Just because they're laying around.
Taking things home as you travel about
Like they're something that you just found.

What about supplies you bring from work
Cause you think they owe you that much.
Toilet paper, supplies and so much more
Are really not safe from your touch.

We really don't look at all this as theft
Cause it’s justified it in our mind.
The need is real is how I feel
If I'm only taking what I find.

Let's get a grip, in the eyes of God
If it's really not yours, put it back.
For God's got more than you'll ever need
He make sure you never suffer lack.

Can’t Afford To Fall

You’ve worked so hard to reach your goal
The goal to answer God’s call.
Many attacks have been thrown your way
But you can’t afford to fall.

A fall means that you lost a battle
In the war between you and sin.
Don’t let the losses get you down
As long as sin doesn’t win.

The battle goes on from day to day
Though battered you must stand tall.
The closer you get to God you’ll know
You can’t afford to fall.

You can't afford to fall in the midst
Of the struggle you must stay strong.
Take the blows but keep your eyes on God
So the fall won't last too long.

Then soon you’ll walk along His path
Your light will be seen by all.
Your purpose is then within your reach
You can’t afford to fall.

The Power of Prayer

The power of prayer is confusing to some

Who think it’s magic in force.

If that’s the way you look at prayer

Then you are way off course.

The power of prayer reaches up to God

Who lets us know He’s there.

He answers with a soothing voice

To let us know He cares.

Depression, loneliness and negative thoughts

Must flee when there is prayer.

God’s love and grace will give you peace

No matter what the snare.

The key to the power of prayer does lie

Within your faith inside.

For doubt destroys what faith you have

Then prayer is laid aside.

So guard the power of prayer you have

Which is your godly treasure.

The power of prayer works day and night

It’s limit too far to measure.

The Voice Of God

Did you think you heard a voice in your head

Unsure that’s what you heard.

Could it be that God is talking to you

And is trying to give you a word?

He speaks quite often every day

If we take the time to hear.

But we’re too busy many times

To know He’s even near.

The voice of God can be a breeze

Which gives us peace of mind.

That very same voice can be real loud

With a message of a different kind.

His voice can lead the way for us

When we know not what’s ahead.

He is voice can lead to a safe way out

Otherwise you might be dead.

The one thing about the voice of God

He will never lead you astray.

But you must take time to hear His voice

Or you’ll never find His way.
