God's Love

God's love abounds and knows no end
Beyond true love or your closest friend.
He loves us when we are not our best
And sees us through the toughest test.

Life's rough beatings can take their toll
Pulling you towards the "darkness" pole.
But don't forget there's help above,
The power that's hidden in God’s love.

Some seek fame and fortune galore,
Worshipping money you only want more.
Addictions of every kind around,
Without His love you will go down.

His grace He gives to you and me,
Nothing we've earned He gives it free.
But there are perks for those who believe,
We'll be with Him when its time to leave.

What else to say about God's love,
It extends beyond, over and above.
So seek His love and you'll soon find
He is the key to peace of mind.

Healed a Troubled Mind

Whenever you're troubled
No matter the odds.
Never be afraid
To turn to God.

Love from Him
Flows like a fountain.
Faith in Him
Can move that mountain.

Never say "won't"
Or even "can't do."
The love of God
Will guide you through.

Can't find your mind
Can't find your way.
Just reach to God
On your knees and pray.

Give Him your heart, give Him your all
His love is one of a kind.
He always knows exactly what's needed
To heal a troubled mind.

Living by the Word

For most of my life I've done my best
To be in total control.
That can cause more harm than good
If you let the truth be told.

Total control is telling God
You need no help from Him.
While in reality without His help
Your chances are very slim.

Living by the Word of God
Gives purpose to your life.
Sometimes your purpose is in the midst
Of trauma, pain and strife.

Everything you do in life
You must apply the Word.

Lust, desires and all your goals
Have a proper place in His Word.

So have no fear when called "fanatic"
For loving your God so true.
You're called that by the ones who have
No Word in their heart, they're blue.

“The Secret Place”

He who dwells in the "secret place"
Is surrounded by the power of God.
A place to go in time of need
No matter what the odds.

For in the "secret place" of God
His shelter does ease your mind.
A place where joy and peace are one,
To leave your problems behind.

There is no place for fear's strong hand
Anxiety or even doubt.
It's putting your "total" trust in Him,
Cause fear you can do without.

Consider all those who really don't know
The comfort found in the Lord.
It's then our job to share with them
Being saved is not being bored.

He who dwells in the "secret place"
Knows healing starts in the mind.
So guard your thoughts, it's up to you,
There're distractions of every kind.

I Call Upon You Lord

I call upon you Lord right now
To ease this troubled mind.
Can't seem to shake bad thoughts
Good thoughts are hard to find.

Not trying to show any disrespect
Cause Lord you know I'm true.
Just trying to get my thoughts in line
So your Word can really come through.

At times it's hard to walk that walk
Dark times when I can't see,
The glory of Your majesty
Your blessings at work in me.

It's in those times I feel Your hand
Move through like you parted the Sea.
Then all at once the weight is gone
Once again Your love saved me.

Lord, please take these thought of mine
Don't know what else to do.
You said call You in time of need
So I lift them all to You.

Faith Is...

"Faith is the evidence of things not seen"
But keeping the faith is the test.
It's trusting in God that it'll come to pass,
While waiting we must do our best.

"Looking not at the things that are seen"
Is the first step we should do.
For in that step we are building our faith
In the Lord who will see us through.

Worrying, pacing and sleepless nights
Is not what it's all about.
For those are signs that your faith is weak
Cause the opposite of faith is doubt.

Keep a record of the smallest things
The Lord has done in your life.
You'll see He's never ever let you down
But there are lessons in strife.

Each one of us has a "measure of faith"
That measure can be changed over time,
The closer relationship you have with God
Can crush that doubt put your faith in line.

A Prayer from Despair

Lord I call you from the depths of despair,
Don't know what else to do.
I'm holding on to the Word by a thread
Trying to put my trust in You.

Lustful desires trying to pull me down
To the Pit where no one stands.
I can only hold on to the single thought
That my pain God understands.

Being told there is no hope in You,
No need to stop and pray.
"No hope is coming from your Father above,
In the depths you're here to stay."

"Get thee behind me, you demon of doubt,
There's one thing you can't see.
You think you're winning but I've got news,
God still watches over me.”

Though I feel my spirit is ripped to shreds
And there's nothing else I can do.
I'll call You, Lord, till I breathe no more,
Cause I put my trust in You.

End Times

End times are here for those who believe
And are keeping up with the Word.
But there are many who don't believe
Whose cries will soon be heard.

Some live their lives and give no thought
To what does lie ahead.
But when it comes down as in the Word
Nothing more will be said.

Sin, addictions of every kind
Runs rampant across the land.
If they could see what lies in wait
I'm sure they'd understand.

Pain and fire and nashing of teeth
From which there is no death.
Cursing the days you lived in sin
Now fire is your only breath.

For me that is no road to take
Under any circumstance,
End times are near you better take heed
God's way is your only chance.

Why You Choose to Sin?

What's going on in your mind
When you stop and choose to sin?

Do you ever stop to think about
All the trouble that you're in?

Choosing darkness over light
Don't know why you feel so low.

Satisfying all your lusts
"Holy Spirit, you've got to go!"

What's going on in your mind
Do you think the Lord won't know?
Do you really think the Lord won't see
Your sin everywhere you go.

Sinning is a very selfish act,
It's pleasure over self-control,
It pulls you down to the lowest depths
Until you've lost your soul.

Why choose the ways of darkness
When the Lord has shown the way?
Don't think there'll be another chance
Once the Lord has had His say.

Resting In the Lord

Rushing through life at break-neck speed
Eating your meals on the run.

Getting little sleep rushing to the next day
Never resting when your day is done.

"Come to me all ye who labor
And I will give you rest.”

The Lord's own words are very plain
In Him you'll be your best.

You rip and race trying to be in control
While the Lord waits for your call.

But your call never comes - don't have the time
Cause you're busy trying to do it all.

"Call upon Me, I will show you great things"
Says the Lord trying to show the way.
When you rest in Him you will get more done
Cause you can't do it all anyway.

"I cast all my care on You, O Lord,"
As Your Word tells me to do.
I've been so busy trying to do everything
Til' I found my rest in You.

Pressures Placed on Love

There are pressures placed on love
When you're trying to do it right.
Pressures trying to take your mate
And pull them to the night.

In the night there are no rules
Only those who're filled with lust.
Destroying all the things you've built
Your loyalty and your trust.

There are those who say that marriage
Is a farce and nothing real.
They say that love will fade away
Your mate they're set to steal.

It's the time to put your relationship
In God's almighty hand.
He’ll then protect your love and mate
And your marriage, it will stand.

Don't listen to all the voices
Set to pull you two apart.
Lift your mate in prayer unto the Lord
He'll see you never part.

God is My Only Source

God knows when the money is low
Knows when the cupboard is bear.
But even in the midst of this seeming drought
He lets me know He's there.

Sometimes the drought's to let you know
You're drifting way off track.
At times it takes a nudge from God
To go and bring you back.

The real test comes when God tells you
To give up your last dime.
You'll find there're blessings hidden within
Your obedience every time.

Sometimes the reasons for your drought
Are too numerous to mention.
If you're to blame and are out of line
God will get your attention.

So what's the key to get your life
And all your funds on track?
It's knowing God's your only Source
Who never suffers lack.

Thank You, Lord!

Thank you Lord for every day
Every single breath I take.
For being right there, in the midst
Of every choice I make.

Thank you Lord for giving me strength
When it’s time for me to be tough.
When things just seem to fall apart
And the road ahead is rough.

Thank you for your patience
When it seems I've gone adrift.
Thank you for your love and grace
Which gives me such a lift.

Thanks for all the little things
That mean so much to me,
I never want to take those things for granted
Cause I was too busy to see.

There’s so much I wish to thank you for
Don't really know where to begin.
But thank you Lord for Calvary

"Praise the Lord at all times"
Even if you don't know how.
Praise Him for the things He's done
In your life back then and now.

Praise Him in the good times
Praise Him in the bad.
When praise goes up blessings come down
Like none you've ever had.

Praise Him when you don't feel like praisin'
Praise Him while going through hell.
Praise Him for your victory
And the testimony you'll have to tell.

I don't hesitate to praise the Lord
For the way He's moved through me.
For even His smallest blessings each day
Are like the parting of the mighty Red Sea.

No matter what the challenge you face in life
You praise God anyhow.

“Perfect Peace”

“Thou will keep him in perfect peace

Whose mind is stayed on Thee."

That verse from the Word is to let us know

How peaceful we should be.

Clearing your mind of the stresses of life

Anxiety all over the place.

People at your job causing much more stress

When they put their problems in your face.

Finances and bills trying to get their share

Of your attention when there's not that much.

It's no wonder in the face of all this mess

We have to stop and seek God's touch.

It's hard to reach the state of peace of mind

If you don't stay in touch with God.

Only through His Word can you find that peace

And still some think that's odd.

For only when you give the Lord all your mess

Will you ever start to feel release.

For only in the hands of Almighty God

Will your stress be transformed to peace.

A Prayer From My Soul

I awake some days, eyes filled with tears,
Forgetting You're the answer to all my fears.
I remember the times that you came through
Finding peace of mind when I trusted you.

Your Word is food on which I feed.

You give me help in time of need.
Your grace is endless, beyond comprehension
Never ceasing to give your divine attention.

I must admit I've made plenty of mistakes
Falling short cause I know just what it takes,
To live my life guided by Your Word
And share it with others who haven't heard.

I commit my life and give all to You
With You there's nothing I cannot do.
Hard times can come and go as they may
But trusting You, Lord, is the only way.

Power Over Fear

“God did not create a spirit of fear

But of love, power and a sound mind.”

Thus it says in the Word of the Lord

To have no fear of any kind.

Fear sneaks in and blocks your mind

Your thoughts all filled with doubt.

Looking for answers and feeling lost

Is a feeling you can life without.

Your mouth gets dry, heart beating fast

Then stress sets in for the kill.

I must stand fast no matter how it seems

For God does love me still.

Answer all fear with the Word of God

Thoughts of fear - step aside!

Even if you feel you have nothing to say

Don’t let your main fault be pride.

You can’t go wrong - put it to a test

When thoughts of fear grip your life.

Drop to your knees, call to the Lord

He’ll come and take away your strife.

Wait on the Lord

A farmer plants seed - puts it in the ground
He lets it grow on its own.
He doesn’t dig it up to see what’s going on
He must wait until that seed is grown.

When we plant a seed in life today
Why can’t we let it be?
We’re busy trying to watch the growth
To see what we can see.

The real power of the little seed we plant
Is what happens underground.
The seed takes root and begins to grow
Without us hanging around.

The test for us – we have to wait
The lesson is deep within.
If we disturb the seed we’ve sown
The growth may never begin.

“Wait on the Lord and all His might”
In the Lord’s time we will see,
That we must wait - the seed will grow
Into the blessing that it will be.

Frustration's Snare

Lord, I’m trying my best to hold on
To your Word and all within.
But frustration’s beating me down a bit
Trying to fill my head with sin.

"Look not at the things that are seen"
I'm trying to do what You said.
Sometimes that's easier said than done
When you have no funds or bread.

As I read the scriptures on and on
Depression’s on my tail.
Trying to say, “There is no God”
And therefore I will fail.

I hold on to your promises, Lord,
I cast my cares on Thee,
Knowing that it’s You one day
Who in time will save me.

You can beat me with frustration
And I’ll take it all in stride.
No matter what you do to me
I will love the Lord with pride.

Trying to come and steal my joy.

You have no place - no need to try

Tell your boss, the devil

That he has no hold on me.

Longing For Love

Loneliness, emptiness, longing for love

Longing for a special one,

Tired of dating and wondering when

I will finally meet someone.

“There is a time to love” in life

“A time to weep,” that’s true.

But the pain of loneliness is wearing me down

And I don’t know what to do.

Lord, take this void away from me

And fill me with Your love.

I know there’s hope and I have faith

In my heavenly Father above.

Let Your essence fill this void

And open my eyes to see,

The one who is to be my love

And share their life with me.

I know it’s written in Your Word

That love can conquer all,

I believe I will find happiness

And that love will answer my call.

Unforgiveness

So what they did you wrong in the past

And made you feel real low.

You let it eat you up inside

Cause you won’t let it go.

Unforgiveness is a shield the blocks

The blessing God has in store.

For when we refuse to forgive someone

Things go wrong even more.

The thought that the one who did you wrong

Never got to feel your wrath.

What if God just planned it that way

Else you would’ve gone down the wrong path.

You’ve got to learn to let it go

And turn your life around.

Unforgiveness festers in your soul

And will surely bring you down.

Who’s caused much pain and strife.

Lord, You're awesome - beyond compare,
I feel your presence everywhere.
No need to worry or ever fear,
For You, O Lord, are always near.

When there's trouble I call on You,
Knowing You'll tell me what to do.
You've shown me just how much You care,
You're never late - you're always there.

I thank You for your mercy and grace,
Your Hand is seen all over the place.
I feel you with me every day,
You never left me when I went astray.

I'm so glad that I'm Your child,
Not one who's lost and running wild.
Wherever I go I share Your light,
And talk to others who need to live right.

Most of all, I spread the news,
In a mixed up world with crazy views.

They really don't know they are out of time.

I Remember the Days

I remember the days when I acted a fool
Not thinking about what was right.
As I look back I can't help but think
The Lord had me in sight.

Ripping and racing and chasing the girls
No control - just running amuck.
Looking at all the chances I took
Like I had all kinds of luck.

Experimenting, drinking but giving no thought
To the dangers all around.
The Lord must have been looking down on me
Any one could have brought me down.

I remember the day in the midst of lust
When the Lord first let His light shine.
From that day forth I was never the same
When the Lord said, "Son, you're mine!"

I thank you, Lord, for cleaning me out
The corruption that lived within.
I was headed to the point of no return
Down the road leading straight to sin.

Forgive me, Lord, for all I done
That's made You ashamed of me.
For Lord my only goal in life
Is to be the best I can be.

The best means living life by your Word
Working hard each and every day,

That come in and lead me astray.

Or done right with my wealth.
Forgive me for not taken the time
To thank You for my health.

Miracle Curve

Driving down the freeway on a very warm day
Up ahead came a very simple curve,
A gust of wind blew my check out the window
I could only watch my check and say, "The nerve!"

My son stopped the car then he put it in reverse
As I sadly watched my check float away,
To the middle of the freeway out of my reach
This was not a good start for my day.

"Can't run across the freeway, I might get hit!"
As I watched cars speeding by.
My only thought was "Please, help me, Lord!"
Then His help quickly came from the sky.

My mouth dropped open as the check floated up
And over all the cars whizzing past,
The real miracle came when the check came down
By my foot - I had my check at last.

I'll never forget the Lord's work that day
Not a single car had to break or swerve.
The Lord's still working in our lives today
As He proved on Miracle Curve.
