Through Their Eyes
Through the eyes of someone still unsaved
Do they see God’s Light in you?
Or do you act some other way
So they wonder what God does do?
Through their eyes do they get a cold stare
From a person they thought should care?
In order to find some T-L-C
They have to look everywhere.
Through their eyes they have to beg
Cause the world just turns them down.
Their heart is broken even more some days
When a Christian gives them a frown.
What good is the light God placed in you
If you never let it shine.
For through their eyes a single ray
Of hope is so divine.
Our job is not only to spread the good news
But to live your life by the Word.
For through their eyes they are waiting to see
If your actions speak louder than your words.

Part Of the Whole
The body of Christ is not just one
Who tries to do it all.
Instead the body consists of many
Each one who is answering their call.
We each must do our specific job
According to our gift.
Working together on one accord
We give each other a lift.
It’s when we do what’s meant for others
That throws us out of line.
We get confused and have to ask
“Is that your job or mine?”
Just like the various parts of our body
We want to do much more.
The mouth can’t smell and the eyes can’t hear
They know what they’re made for.
Just remember we’re all in this together
Each one is part of the whole.
With Christ at the head as we do our jobs
We’ll finally reach our goal.

EGO (Easing God Out)
Ego is really not a gift from God
Self-centered is what it is all about.
But if you stop to think it’s more than that
Some say it means “easing God out.”
It’s one thing to brag about all you’ve done
Still another thinking you’re all that.
It gets to a point you get on people’s nerves
Cause you’re acting like a little spoiled brat.
The person with the ego doesn’t even notice
How he’s stepping on toes after toes.
What does it matter, it’s all about him
Cause he does it wherever he goes.
The thing about the ego you’re on a thin line
Cause now you’re on God’s wrong side.
Head getting bigger than ever before
To the point where there’s too much pride.
It’s written quite plainly in the good Book
That pride does goes before the fall.
Pride out of control eases God out
So they’ll never ever hear His call.

What Am I Not Doing Right?
Lord, please tell me what I’m not doing right
Am I blocking my blessings being so uptight?
Lord, I don’t know what else I can do
Just hoping I’ll find the answer in You.
In studying scriptures, your Word is heard
Doing everything I can to spread the Word.
Where are blessings when one lives right?
Searching in tears as I sleep each night.
My prayers too desperate to hear You speak?
Has doubt come in and my faith’s grown weak?
Lord, give me a sign, just a ray of hope
Just knowing you’re there will help me cope.
My mind is tired trying to see the unknown
Is this the reaping for some seed I’ve sown?
I don’t ask for much, just a little in life
Enough to ease this continuous
strife.
I know it’s not right to question Your plan
For You already know the struggles of man.
But no matter what I hold on to You
There’s nothing else I know that I can do.

The Green-Eyed Monster
Friends getting blessed more and more each day
But my blessing still hasn’t shown.
I find my blood boiling each time they get blessed
Cause what’s happening to mine is not known.
This feeling that I get when I see others blessed
Is a feeling that makes my blood stir.
It’s not that I’m mad or wish them any harm
It’s the spirit of the green-eyed monster.
Jealousy is another name given to the spirit
Who can’t stand to see anyone else succeed.
Just say “praise the Lord, I’m really glad for you”
Or that spirit will rise in you and take the lead.
People don’t know the pain thoughts cause
They’re sad to see your gains.
What kind of doors have they closed thinking that
While the jealousy inside remains.
The green-eye monster is real don’t you see
But you’re the one who controls him from inside,
Just give thanks when anyone is blessed
And you’ll find your jealousy has been laid aside.

It’s Out of My Hands
When will you stop trying to be in control?
Even still God understands,
You keep on walking but still lose ground
Before you say, “It’s out of my hands.”
Giving yourself stress and anxiety attacks
Knocking your head up against the wall.
Turn all your problems over to God
And He will take care of them all.
You stay up all night looking for answers
But you never even thought to pray.
While you buzz around like a rat in a maze
God is trying to show you the way.
You’re a nervous wreck and need a change
You’ve wasted more time than you think.
Next thing you know months have gone by
And never thought about the missing link.
Call out to God, the missing link you seek
Cause He knows about all of your plans.
He calmly watches as you bustle about
For you to say, “It’s all in Your hands.”

Thoughts of Doom
Crying myself to sleep each night
There’s too much on my mind.
Tossing and turning my stomachs churning
No answers can I find.
Pain and frustration is off the scale
Don’t think I’m winning this fight.
Scared this feeling might take me out
Will I make it through the night?
Thoughts of doom are filling my head
Fighting to catch my breath.
A hand at my throat that is not seen
Is this what happens near death?
Lord take these thoughts they’re killing me
They’re pulling me apart.
I don’t know if I’m coming or going
Don’t even know where to start.
“Weeping may endure for the night”
But this night just won’t end.
I give thanks in the midst of it all
That Jesus is still my friend.

I See God
I see God in the midst of trouble
No matter how bad the need.
I know His love is there for me
When I keep Him in the lead.
I see God when I see no way
Though the road seems oh so rough.
I know that He will comfort me
Even though times are tough.
I see God when I’m feeling down
When troubles are in full swing.
I know there’s power in His Word
And the joy that it can bring.
Many may try to steer you wrong
Their faith is oh so weak.
But I see God while others doubt
His face I constantly seek.
My love for God grows more and more
He shows He’s here each day.
I focus on all His promises
For He’s never led me astray.

I’m Gonna Claim My Victory
I’ve been working too hard to turn back now
Got my eyes focused on the prize.
Can’t let anybody get in my way
No matter what obstacle or size.
I’m gonna’ claim my victory, it’s oh so close
I’ve been waiting for it for so long.
Nothing you can say can hold me back
Cause I know where I belong.
Some people hang around like dead weight
Pulling you back the wrong way.
They’re jealous and hate that you have the nerve
To know you’re going to make it one day.
“Take what’s yours,” He’s always said
What’s yours is not to be changed.
The jealous can come and try to take what’s yours
But your life has been prearranged.
So walk boldly in his Word without a doubt
And one day you’ll truly see.
When you live your life by the Word of God
You’ll soon claim your victory.

Touch Not God’s Anointed
Some people love to mess over others
Like they get some kind of joy.
Lying, cheating, gossiping and stealing
Treating others like a mistreated toy.
These people just love to cause pain in others
Like they have been appointed.
They’ve obviously have never heard the phrase
Touch not God’s anointed.
When you seek to mess over a child of God
You’re really starting to play with fire.
For soon you’ll find yourself reaping God’s wrath
I’m sure that’s not what you desire.
Touch not God’s anointed ones
You don’t want to plant that seed.
For God He knows the heart of man
He knows who will succeed.
Just trying to tell the ones who don’t
Believe this poem is true.
When you messing with God’s anointed ones
That’s the last thing’s you want to do.

Walk in the Light
There is a place in your walk with God
When you feel everything is right.
Don’t be alarmed it’s not a dream
It’s just your walk in the Light.
In the Light you feel God’s love and peace
His protection is all around.
A place where violence would have no place
If the world would just come around.
To walk in the light is to share His Light
With everyone the best you can.
To walk in the light is to be in the midst
Of God’s Almighty plan.
So what if people ridicule you
For trying to live your life right.
They can’t see the goal in thee
To keep your God in sight.
“Walk in the Light” is hearing His voice
In every decision that you make.
Stay in the Light, the end is near
Your very soul is at stake.

Dollar Sign Blues
I’m feeling real low, I’m feeling down
Don’t want nobody to be around.
At times like these I need the Word
Cause only the negative is being heard.
Trying to find a way to get peace of mind
But right now peace is hard to find.
Over and over I keep trying to pray
“Lord, please, Lord!” Show me the way.
Exhaustion is high I’m feeling weak
For strength in You is what I seek.
Using all my strength to keep holding on
Cause I feel I’ll slip before too long.
Trying to avoid an anxiety attack
Right now its money I surely lack.
You said “ Don’t worry, have no fear.
Just call on Me, you’ll know I’m here.”
I’m feeling helpless, feeling blue
Without You, Lord, what will I do?
I can’t explain why I feel this way
But I know the Lord will guide the way.

Ya’ Messin’ With My Money
There’s one thing I can’t stand to hear
From people who handle my check.
Sometimes they make just so mad
Somebody’s got to hit the deck.
“I can’t find your paperwork
Or did you sign the form?”
If you don’t find my money right quick
You gonna see how I perform.
Why don’t the people who have this job
Have to pay the price?
It’s not my fault the check is late
You should have to pay me twice.
How about docking money from their check
The amount they forgot to add to mine.
Messin’ with my money really ain’t funny
When you lay it all on the line.
It may seem that I’m joking around
But the problem really does happen a lot.
Only by the grace of Almighty God
Keeps my temperature from reaching hot.

Ain’t That God!
Miracles in the world are alive and well
To those who believe in such.
They happen even if you don’t believe
Cause they come directly from His touch.
Maybe it’s when your car swerves unbeknownst
Or something happens beyond your control.
A parking space opens just as you drive up
Or the vision in your mind now unfolds.
“Ain’t that God” is what many say
When it’s God without a shadow of a doubt.
Cause you’ll soon find out God is doing His thing
In a world slowly trying to ease Him out.
Emotions yielding or miraculous healings
Is God at work daily in our life.
Knowing that without these unsung works
We’d never make it in this world of strife.
“Ain’t that God” is a way to give thanks
Giving credit where credit is due.
I’m not about to try to live without God
Cause He gave too much for me and you.

You'll Never Steal My Joy
We all know the devil's job
To kill, steal and destroy.
But it doesn't matter what he does to me
Cause he'll NEVER steal my joy.
The joy of the Lord burns deep within
As He guides me through the day.
That joy makes me turn away from sin
When it seems there's no other way.
People can call me all kinds of things
And other tactics they employ.
But they can't seem to understand
They will NEVER steal my joy.
He reached way down and pulled me back
From a world of corruption and doom.
Each day I stop and give him praise
I can feel Him in the room.
So you see I'm hooked and high on His love
No need for you to act coy.
You can beat me ‘til I breathe no more
But you'll NEVER steal my joy.

Praise God Anyhow, Pt.2
When you’re feeling like all is lost
And ask, “What do I do now?”
That’s the time you drop on your knees
And praise God anyhow.
There’s anointing hidden in your praise
When you see no light ahead.
You could’ve returned to worldly ways
But you chose to praise instead.
Your boss told you, “You’re fired!”
You thought you were getting a raise.
But he didn’t know about the job ahead
That came because of your praise.
Praise Him in the morning, praise Him at night
Give praise as you drive in your car.
Praise Him when you feel your worse
He’s there right where you are.
Bad times can only get you down
As much as you allow.
But when you feel you’ve lost your grip
Praise God anyhow.

As Though They Were
“I call those things that be not
As though they were.” Says the Word.
That means it’s yours before it’s seen
No matter what you’ve heard.
What’s meant for you, you’ll have it.
No devil can take it away.
The only thing that can stop it now
Are the words you speak each day.
Calling those things before you see them
Is faith at it’s very best.
Acting as if they’re already here
Is the way you past that test.
The manifestation is all on you.
Don’t hamper it with your doubt.
Let words of faith flow from your lips
Or you’ll find yourself without.
“Call those things that be not”
As though they’re already yours.
The more you speak those words of faith
More faith in you He pours.

Use Me, Lord!
Use me, Lord, as you see fit
Show me what you need.
In You I live and breathe your Word
In my life You take the lead.
Guide me, Lord, where should I be
To help and spread the Word?
There are no bounds I place on You
Helping those who haven’t heard.
Cleanse me, Lord, from everything
You see in me out of line.
My only goal is to live for You
And let Your glory shine.
Help me, Lord, in dealing with those
Who hate You through their pain.
Let Your light shine through my words
That they may live again.
Use me, Lord, in any way
That You see fit for me.
I know whatever You have in store
Will be where I should be.

Flow Through Me, Lord!
Lord, flow through me each day I wake
That others may see your light.
Flow through me in every way
That I may do what’s right.
Flow through me, let me not be weak
When you call upon me to heal.
Let not my doubt stand in the way
Because of how I feel.
Bless my mouth and what I say
When guided by Your will.
That others may seek Your face once more
And know You love them still.
Keep your hedge upon all those
Who are close to me in life.
Protect them Lord from any attack
As I tend to others’ strife.
Lord I seek to let Your light
Shine bright from day to day.
It is my wish that through Your light
I’ll help them see the way.

Act Like You’re Free
You don’t have to settle for less in life
As you live from day to day.
The change begins in you, my friend
With the thoughts you plant today.
So what if life’s been treating you bad
There’s more for you ahead.
You’ll only stay right here where you are
If you do nothing instead.
See your life as it will be soon
Not as it is right now.
Put your faith at work each day
Even if you don’t see how.
“…Faith is the substance of things hoped for
The evidence of things you can’t see.”
Act like you’re free, put away all doubt
Cause that’s where you want to be.
The Word has promised success in life
For those who follow His will.
Keep your sights on your life ahead
So you won’t be standing still.

Don’t Let the Devil Steal Your Joy
Don’t let the devil steal your joy
That's God’s special gift.
For in the midst of all your trials
That joy gives you a lift.
If the devil can get your joy
He’d get a hold on you.
He’d try to pull you all the way down
With no joy to see you through.
The joy of the Lord is your protection
Your barrier and your shield.
It protects you from the enemy’s game
No matter what the field.
Emotions run both high and low
Our life we should enjoy.
But the devil has only one goal in mind
“To steal, kill and destroy.”
Don’t let the devil steal your joy
Don’t let him get you down.
There’s no way he can get to you
As long as joy’s around.

Angels Unaware
Be careful how you treat someone
When you show them you don’t care.
You’ll never know when the one you shun
Is an angel unaware.
They walk among us to and fro
Give help in time of need.
They’re here to help us many ways
They’ll help us to succeed.
Just because they’re not in sight
Don’t take their presence lightly.
You’ll never know what danger lurks
Which they dispose of nightly.
A swerving car knocked back on track
Stray bullets pass on by.
All kinds of things could end your life
Did you ever stop to think about why?
Don’t waste the angels appointed to you
They’re with you everywhere.
Just remember next time you’re being rude
It may be an angel unaware.

YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW
We’re living in a world from day to day
Too busy to notice their ways.
They’ll step on you and not look back
Been doing this for days.
They hurt and hate and disrespect
Sometimes without a reason.
But what you give you will get back
When comes your reaping season.
“You reap what you sow” it ain’t no joke
Life works just like a wheel.
When something you did in the past comes back
You know that wheel is real.
It matters not if you’ve changed your life
To undo things done long ago.
The sowing that was set in motion back then
Will follow you wherever you go.
From this day forth rewrite the book
In what’s ahead for you.
You’ll one day reap what you’re sowing right now
Be aware of all that you do.

He’s Under Your Feet
If you see me running and praising His name
My spirit feels so complete.
That’s because I’ve taken the devil
And placed him under my feet.
With the Word my foot is in control
And the devil’s in my command.
But watch and pray each and every day
Or once again he’ll stand.
You see he’s already lost the battle
But hopes that you don’t know.
For if you don’t know the power you have
You’ll surely let him go.
He tries to attack us through our mind
Our friends and loved ones too.
But you keep close to the Word of God
And there’s nothing he can do.
So keep on dancing and praising his name
You’ll find it is a treat.
To know you can see your purpose now
Cause the devil is under your feet.

The Anointing
The anointing is the burden-removing
Yoke-destroying power of God.
That means that you have supernatural power
While some try to call it odd.
It’s odd because they lack the knowledge
Of the Word and all it’s power.
They never ever stop to think
It’s the Word that can empower.
Empower you to go beyond
All challenges faced in life.
Anointing gives you victory
Over all your anguish and strife.
The anointing is a gift from God
You only need to ask.
It will help you win the challenges faced
No matter what the task.
I thank you Lord for this special gift
For letting it fall on me.
I promise not to waste this gift
That others may see it on me.
